An independent coffee shop in the courtyard at Middleton Hall near Tamworth, started by Sarah Exall in 2012 after beginning as a cupcake business. It is best known for afternoon teas and homemade cakes, and caters for gluten-free and vegan diets. Gluten-free baking is a particular focus here, which matters if you are coeliac or cooking for someone who is – always ask about cross-contamination controls. Regulars tend to come back for afternoon tea, cakes, scones and breakfasts.
